  • It’s like the old idea of a self fulfilling prophecy, if you find out you’re to die a certain day you may try to avoid it and inadvertently cause your death that day, and other similar models of myth. The point is you don’t need to know every little thing about your genetics, nature is at most half the battle, it’s also how you were raised and treated in life, and genetics are incredibly hard to interpret. So I wouldn’t want to know anything from my genetics

  • There are genetic tests today, available from very large companies, which are regularly in clinical use – without adequate clinical validation.

Similarly, there are genetic tests sold that are more focused on so called “lifestyle” testing, that are being villified for no particular reason. Their work is based on science, not on a hoax.

Finally, there pharmaceitucal products (antibiotics, antihypertensives, etc.) in daily use, for which clinicians have no idea what the long-term effects of use are. Yet, they are being used without question, backed by scientific research that is non-reporducible in over 70% of cases.

All facts. No conspiracy theories. Facts.

  • They should seek for best available certainty, do own research, fund research, have skilled professional teams verifying as much as possible in what is considered certain enough to be told to customers, and communicate the uncertainty that is currently left in each part of their reports. Over-regulations would do not good, but wild west attitude is also most harmful.

  • The original companies who started DNA testing. I’m not a doctor nor so a scientist. DNA should be tested for “deformation of the genetic structure” different types of blood. Why mental health and physical health problems form . Not how to take a ghost poop to save trees.. people who get scammed are the reasons it is still around.
