  • Yes like the Russians shutting down our old electrical infrastructure. You would be amazed at the lack of cyber security utilized at the various power plants and substations across the country. It is getting better due to NERC, however there are facilities out there that are still running machines with Windows XP or connections from their control network to their corporate network. Shameful. Why? These companies didn’t take these threats seriously until NERC was established and told these companies to start getting their shit together otherwise we are gonna fine the shit out of you. And they do.

  • Tbh there is an old cold war scenario where something akin to a totalitarian dictator takes control of the US. There was a contingency plan for this. Not that cyberwarfare was on the table but it was a few simple steps carried out to make sure said dictator was busy at home. The attacks was aimed at knocking out The electrical grid, Phone lines and resucue services. The deathtoll was projected in the tens of millions.
