  • It’s good policy to send what you think is going to work out there not something that you want to see go up and fail and know it’s going to fail. So I feel where Elon is coming from

  • Well, this is why we test. It’s good to make sure it’s going to work, but if it doesn’t that’s normal.

  • Elon Musk sounds like a little bitch. You can never be 100% it is not going to explode until you try it. What a great boss stating the obvious, like those engineers would like to see the hard work blow up to pieces. They probably care more about the rocket than you Elon because they actually build it with their own hands. You should comfort your engineers not thell them off.

  • In the early Apollo missions, techs were leaving all manner of hazards in the modules. Forgotten wrenches, exposed wiring, and so on. Terrible.

  • Elon has said in the past that NASA’s “failure is not an option” slogan is not for SPACEX, as such an attitude would unacceptably slow innovation and progress, and that failure is to be expected (from time to time). BUT, no doubt he’d still prefer not to. Gotta find that balance…

  • What if these engineers are on a tight schedule? They may not have as much time as needed to test to their hearts content. In the end of the day SpaceX is a company so I would understand if engineers feel pressured to rush.
