  • These questions are Utilitarianism wet dreams, but it’s alarming to me that now is the time to ask them. We seem to be more comfortable with an elevated risk of accidents and being unaware of reason for decisions made than mitigated risk of accidents with absolute data on decisions made. Shouldn’t we be content with better drivers on the road and confront the trolley car questions through software updates and legislation once wealthy people with time to spare and a dead cat care to combat moralistic absolutism?

  • These problems are simple to answer, if the car is going to hit something than just have it stop and the person driving/riding can place the car in a safe place to begin the car driving itself. Make them always have safe places to pull over for a cop everytime by reading the cop car number on the bumper in most places to determin if its rlly a cop. And since the vehicle is still over 2-3k pounds most of the time than yes you should have propper licensing to operate it. If people want to be lazy and not drive themselfa if their lucky enough to have a car than they should just take public tranport. The reasom this is so hard for people to aprove it because their is alot of logic and commen sence lost in these yrs we live in.

  • The manufacture should be responsible for the vehicles actions because they programmed the code for self driving. Only need license if the vehicle has an option to allow human driving. It should choose what to run over based off of probability of success of a miss, and obeying the first rule, do not harm a human. Even better let the owner of the vehicle decide in a questionnaire when they buy it. If cops need to be involved the logs of the vehicle will be submitted to the police.
